Boston Ballet – Siren Ball 2023

From the desk of: Amy Goldberg

Boston Ballet found a new home for their every growing 2023 Siren Ball, in the SOWA Power Station.  Reimagining the raw industrial space of concrete floors and exposed brick walls on a cold and snowy night in February into the underworld of the ocean through an immersive sound experience upon arrival, lighting, organic floral décor and customized window clings of the artwork from one of the collaborator’s of the featured performances, these were lit from the outside.

Four full days of setup included custom building a performance stage, flying over 1,000 feet of truss for the appropriate lighting, two floral installations that climbed the height of the steel beams designed by Table and Tulip, floor to nearly the ceiling, approximately 60 guests tables, dance floor, soft seating areas, bars and a custom 360 photobooth space as well.  No matter how large a space we find to host this Ball, we ALWAYS end up filling it right to the brim for the best kick off of the 2023 gala season!

Check out our time lapse to see it all go up and come down…in just 47 seconds…let’s just say it took a little longer than that to rest and recover post event :)
