M+TJ on the Ocean

From the desk of: Rena Stoloff

In all honesty, I was not the type growing up to dream about my future wedding. In fact I was quite indifferent to the idea all together. I had preferred thinking about building an intricate mansion with many winding staircases and hidden passages. It was quite the home, if I do say so!

When I began working in events, I did not think I would ever make my way into the wedding world; it seemed too high risk, too personal, and too intricate of a process. I was right, but for all the wrong reasons…

M & TJ’s day was so joyous. It was vibrant and electric. They were married on a mid October Saturday, right on the coast of Duxbury, Massachusetts.

Phoebe and I worked together (with lots of help from many others!), for over a year, on bringing to life M & TJ’s ideas and dreams.

To them their wedding day meant: to celebrate all the small things that together built the foundation of their relationship: the people, the memories, the love.

And it was an honor to be a part of it.

Details fell into place, invitations stamped and mailed, and suddenly I found myself watching all of our vendors load into the venue. The hustle and bustle of the ‘load-in’ is one of my favorite parts of event day. Having each piece of the puzzle laid in place, to reveal the final picture

mid set up!

With the final napkin folded and the ceremony guitarist’s sound check complete, the guests began to arrive. M & TJ were hustled away to their hiding spots and awaited the music to begin.

The bridal party played hangman to pass the time :)

their holding room!

I feel truly honored to have been a part of this special day ~

Wedding planning being high risk, personal, and intricate IS what makes it so special. We get to help create a memory that will, literally, last a lifetime.

Thank you for entrusting us, M & TJ! <3
