Keeping Positive in Times of Crisis

In the Spirit of Keeping Positive, AE Events has something we want to say:

To the entire hospitality and event planning community, we are with you.  We feel your pain and we are here for you.  We want to remind everyone that ‘this too shall pass’ and when it does, we will rise up together and will be stronger for it in the future.  We know and understand that in unknown times it is easy to allow panic to seep in; we are not medical professionals with prior outbreak type experience, but we do know that the success for each of us is based on a community commitment to not allow for failure – it’s simply not an option.

Part 1: We Thank You

To Our Clients:

We thank you for your patience in these unknown times…we thank you for bearing with us as we learn new information day by day.  We want you to know, you are our first priority.  As we are working with each of you to either to postpone or to cancel – we want to help you make the best decision.  Please know that we are working hard to ensure that your event will better than ever.  We are committed to helping with all the arrangements, making the best connections, and thinking strategically about the best next steps for YOUR event.

To Our Vendor Partners:

You are such a valuable and integral part of our team.  As we pivot to make the necessary adjustments on behalf of our clients, we have been AMAZED and AWED by your generosity and ability to adjust your schedule and staffing as need be.  We know these are hard times, but please know that we are here for you, your staff, and can’t wait to get back to doing what we love to do with all our favorite partners.

Part 2: We are Here for You

To Those Out There without an Event Professional:

We are here for you.  Sometimes the idea of what’s next and how to pivot can be even more challenging than the original plan.  Allow us to provide you with our expertise and creativity about what’s next…even if we weren’t there to start.  You don’t have to figure this out all alone.

If you are an engaged couple with an upcoming wedding and unsure what to do, we are here to help guide you through this.

If you are a nonprofit planning to celebrate your annual fundraising gala, we have creative ideas to help ensure your mission is heard and your programs can be funded.

If you are a corporate business planning to host an employee appreciation, summer outing or dinner, we are here to help spin this into an appropriate and safe gathering in this unprecedented time.

Please reach out to us at info@aeevents.com and we will respond within 24 hours for a COMPLIMENTARY consultation.

Part 3: Suggestions

Making the Best of Times like These:

Do you remember when you were in grade school and out for the summer – all this time on your hands…now what should you do.  We want to share some ideas while at home to keep ourselves feeling positive and upbeat.

1.     Read or Write – this one is a bit obvious, but how about pick up that book that you have been staring at for quite some time and just start!  Want to start blogging? Well now is the time!

2.     Learn – start an online class!

3.     Movies/TV Shows – How about for every romcom or chick flick you watch, you have to then watch something informational?

4.     Start a 2,000-piece puzzle

5.     Organize – Start with a nice spring cleaning, and we suggest starting in your closet.  Try making one trash bag full of items you want to donate

6.     Check in – with your neighbors, relatives, friends - stay connected and share your positivity with them!

7.     Meditate – check in with yourself daily

8.     Go for a Run or Walk – get out and move your body, do jumping jacks on your balcony, or sprint the stairs in your building, do what you can!

9.     Collect Joyful Moments – start and end each day by choosing one moment per day to be thankful for

10.  Smile – sit on your couch, car, bed for 15 seconds a day and just smile.  It will send signals to your brain to actually make you happy!

11.  Pay it forward – make a batch of your favorite cookies and leave it on the doorstep of your neighbor with a note to enjoy, and pay it forward to another neighbor

12.  Facetime – we need a sense of community, instead of dinner out with friends, how about a group facetime over wine.

We want to send the whole community a virtual hug and get the message out there that we WILL get through this, but only if we remain calm and stick together.  And when this is all over, we will absolutely need to celebrate – 100% something amazing to look forward to!
