Gift Boxes Galore

From the desk of: Caitlin Theall

Who doesn’t love receiving packages?! I know I sure do. Especially this past year…the smallest of things were so exciting to receive.

As (most) events transitioned from in-person to virtual over this past year, a lot of elements surrounding events had to shift and change. We found ourselves facing new sets of questions from clients: How do you keep guests engaged? How do you gain momentum leading up to your event? What benefits can you give sponsors for a virtual event?

One idea that we have seen be really successful that answers all 3 questions above are custom gift boxes

Gift boxes are not new by any means, but they have become a new element for most of our clients’ events. Creating custom gift boxes that are sent out to event attendees prior to an event has become a really successful way to engage guests and show your appreciation for their support.

Not only are gift boxes a great way to show your donors and guests that you appreciate them, but it also gets them excited that your event is right around the corner! Gift boxes are usually delivered to guests the week of your event, so it’s a great way to re-engage your guests right before your big day.

There is so much you can do and include, and you can even have different levels for gift boxes. We have done this with some nonprofit clients as they have tiered gift boxes based on their sponsorship levels.

Another great thing about gift boxes is they are budget friendly. You don’t need to need to go overboard on sending items to your guests, sometimes just a sweet treat and a note is enough.

Some other items that are always a hit in event gift boxes:

  • Snacks such as popcorn, cookies, candy or nuts – something for guests to munch on while watching your event.

  • Branded items (glasses, coasters, wine opener, face masks)

  • Cocktail syrup with a recipe card

  • Program book – we used to collect 50+ program books after events ended. Now, you can send guests your program book ahead of your event and people actually take the time to read through them.

  • Note – this is a great opportunity to thank guests for their support and remind them of the details surrounding you event (what time it starts, the link for your event, agenda, etc.)

Another option besides gift boxes – send them dinner – create curated catering boxes Having a catered meal with a cocktail or bottle of wine delivered to your attendees’ doorsteps is another great way to show guests appreciation. It’s so easy to have food delivered to your door these days but working with a professional catering team really makes all the difference in the world. They are able to customize certain elements and their food is top-notch.

Whether you are looking to send give gift boxes for a wedding, social event, nonprofit gala, corporate conference or meeting, gift boxes are a great way to give your guests some extra appreciation for their continued support.

Here are some local vendors that we love partnering with on custom gift and catering boxes for events. Partnerships are so important to us, and these are two we love to collaborate with, for in-person and virtual events.

LUX BOX Company – they are also woman owned and operated.
