A Micro Berkshires Wedding

From the desk of: Phoebe Allen

Julie and Michael came to us in the midst of covid, having to change their date once again and just needing some help pushing through the last couple months. It was February 2021 and J + M were changing up their wedding plan for the last time and we were here to help finalize it. They wanted a plan they could trust and have faith would happen. They decided on a micro wedding of their closest family and friends of 17 guests at a dream location, The Mount in Lenox, MA.

The day was July 6, 2021 and every vendor, including us, was so excited to get out there and make this wedding happen. July was right when weddings and events were at a peak and coming back full swing so there was so much adrenaline and excitement around this time. The day went as follows, let us paint you a picture :)

Hair and makeup began at Wyndhurst, and I arrived on site to get all the supplies for the day. The first thing I check when I get to the bridal suite is that the dress is hanging up somewhere where it can breath with also a beautiful backdrop for the photographer. Tatiana was on site already laying out the flat-lay styling and starting to work on some beautiful detail shots. I brought the ladies some lunch to snack on and I make sure my couples eat and drink plenty of water throughout the day even though I know the nerves are flowing!

I left the bridal suite just as hair and makeup was finishing and Julie was about to get in her dress. I headed over to The Mount to begin set up and start putting the reception design together. This design consisted of one long lavish table with florals, candles, place settings, and the cutest place cards I have seen; I was super excited to start bringing this design to life. As the day went by, linen goes down, chairs were placed just ‘kissing’ the linen, florals down, place cards in, flatware set and so on until the table was picture perfect. As all of this was happening I was feverishly refreshing my weather app because a big piece of this day and the Mount as a venue are the beautiful gardens the venue has to offer and our plan A was to use one of the gardens for their ceremony.

It turns out a giant monsoon was heading our way, we waiting till the last possible second to decide where we wanted the ceremony and thankfully we decided indoors! We got the best of both worlds because the beautiful architecture The Mount has to offer was a perfect ceremony setting and the rain cleared up so we could walk around and take photos in the garden after. I will note that midway through the ceremony, we were moping up water and keeping it away from our beautiful reception table. THAT right there is why you hire a planner!! To make sure your day runs smoothly no matter what obstacles are thrown your way.

The reception begins, toasts are made and the guests danced the night away. We were blessed with a beautiful night sky and it was truly a magical evening for us all.

Wouldn’t have changed a thing and you can’t even tell there was a rain storm from the stunning photos below!
